Red face O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1

Hi All,

I am having a real issue with a O2 Sensor CEL code on Bank 1 Sensor 1 (P0134 Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Sensor 1). I replaced it a few days ago (a lot of fun, and penetrate) only to have it throw a second code P0132 Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Sensor 1).

I have inspected the wiring going from the connector until it meets a large bunch of wires wrapped together. Any experiences or suggestions would be appreciated. The CEL is keeping me from being able to run through DEQ, and im past frustrated.

Thanks!

what year and model car, what kind of sensor did you put in ,have seen several people on here have problems with aftermarket o2 sensors (mainly bosch) my old stratus seemed to run better on oem parts from dealer, those codes could be caused by wiring check ground strap on back of exhaust if your model has one, hows the exhaust look extreme rust could cause problems, high fuel pressure or bad injectors, intake or vacuum leak ,on some models think 2003 or later next generation controllers the o2 sensors run thru the ASD relay

Denso Upstream Direct Fit.
have seen several people on here have problems with aftermarket o2 sensors
I started it up after the swap and it began to Idle Rough, and threw me another code as well a minute later PO132 O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage. Long Story short, it really began running horribly. Rough Idle, Loss of power, surging, Stalling. I watched the O2 sensors on Torque, and 1/1 was between .8 and 1.3 while 2/2 sensor was very low .008 and hitting 0.0. I checked vaccuum hoses, pulled the Map Sensor, and after I reinstalled THAT guy, I got another code PO108 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Circuit High Voltage. Now its a party right?!

The last two days I have been carefully inspecting the connectors, and wires, taping up any that were even slightly suspect. I found the EGR transducer behind the head had popped out of the bottom hose leading into the EGR. Reinstalled the OLD Upstream O2 Sensor.

I removed the Plugs, checking for abnormal issues, finding Cylinder 2 plug with Carbon Tracking on one side, explaining the Idle(Misfire). Replaced the plugs (NGK Double Platinum) and the Wire set,the PCV, and air filter, fired it up, and it purred. I drove for a bit, enjoying the restored power, and no CEL, and it threw the P0134: Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Sensor 1), and I am back at square one.

Running great, but that old O2 sensor is remaining at .4-.06 and occasionally spike to 1.3 , then back down for a DCT, keeping me from getting it through DEQ...
check ground strap on back of exhaust if your model has one
I will do that here shortly at first light. Is it possible to run a resistance test on an O2 out of the car, I will be testing the connector to 1/1 also for signal/ground/12v. I am leery about swapping that old sensor for the denso...That is when it all went from bad to worse, I suppose they can be defective, not sure how to check it.
hows the exhaust look extreme rust could cause problems, high fuel pressure or bad injectors, intake or vacuum leak ,on some models
It is running sweet besides the CEL, and I am getting past frustrated. Thanks for the response, and ideas appreciated

Default Not giving up on this car yet

I am back.

I parked the Stratus for a bit, and am troubleshooting its Bank 1 Sensor 1 No Activity CEL with a clearer head. I replaced both Bank 1 and Bank 2 O2 Sensors, and still having the .4-.6 reading on Bank 1. I think I can eliminate the Sensors at this point and Take a hard look at the PCM. I have traced the wiring , and looks to be intact, as well as Both Connectors.

Any further troubleshooting suggestions, or any recommended sites for a reputable site with a PCM replacement for $100-$200?

Thanks
Gary
