2000 dodge stratus

I have a 2000 dodge stratus and the engine light is on. When I hook it up to my scanner it won't do anything. Is there a fuse and if so where is it located?

Last car I had that wouldn't hook up to a scanner, had a fried ecu. Are there any other issues or just the cel?

Has anyone else tried to read the codes or just you with your scanner?

This ^^, and, does the scanner work on any other car? And, yes, there is usually a fuse for the OBD port, should be marked on the fuse panel, or stated in the owners manual, or just look for any burned fuses.

Only my husband has tried to scan it. And there are no other problems that I know of. The scanner works on other vehicles and the owners manual is missing. We checked the fuse but couldn't find one for the port.
