Default Can't find Evap Purge Solenoid 1997 Stratus 2.4L

I'm having an issue where when I gas up the pump keeps stopping. All the research I've done says my evap canister might not be purging.

I wanted to check the purge valve solenoid but I can't find it. Haynes manual says it's supposed to be on the driver side shock tower. It ain't there.

Then I thought, what if the engine had been replaced with a 98. It should be right next to the windshield washer filler. Nope.

I'm at a loss. Anyone know where else it could be?

The purge solenoid should be near the coolant reservoir; the leak detection pump, if equipped, is adjacent to the fuel tank and evap canister. There is a check valve in the filler neck that may be causing your problem..

Thanks for the info. Valve is ok. Now to pull the filler neck.
