what would you have to do to a 2.4 stratus motor to run 20-30 psi all day long?

pray.
buy a forged crank, forged low compression pistons..

basically, change EVERYTHING except for the block.

and honestly, i dont know of many motors that will stand up to 30 psi "all day long"

I was going to say about the same thing, only toss in a quip or two... Decided it wasnt called for....

Basically engineer a new 2.4 from the block up.
Upgrade the pistons, rods, and crank, and you might hold it together around the 20 mark. Over that and I think you would toss reliability out the window.

How well webbed is the 2.4 block? pretty beefy?
I know most bocks intended for boosting are cast with extra webbing and reinforcements throughout.

before answering your question I must first ask you a question. Why on God's Green earth would you want to run 20 or more psi "all day long"? Even if it's just a track car, you wouldnt run it all day long 5, 6, hell maybe 7 runs, in a day at the most. which is less than 2 hours.

Coming from a turbo background and having had 2 turbo cars (one turboed from the factory & one added aftermarket), & planning on a third. 10 psi on any mitsu motor will surely satisfy anyones need for speed. anything more than 20 is signing your own death warant, let alone severly damaging your wallet & shortening the life of you motor

2.4 block is weak, open deck design. Not very rigid, I wouldn't run more than 5 - 10 psi of boost, if that. A nice closed deck engine would be better suited.

Witch 2.4 are you talking about the Mits. or Chrysler. I know the Chysler internals won't hold but the block is strong, SRT-4's can run 20psi no problem and it's the same block. Theres neon drag cars running over 1000hp on a stock 2.4 block too.

The chrysler 2.4. I know that they run some sick horsepower in the Neons, you wouldn't think that they would hold up given the block design.
