My friend has a 2001 sedan 2.4L. We have spent the last 4 days pulling her apart to replace the timing tensioner and when we go to put it back together, we go to place the alternator back in and ended up braking off what we beleive is the map sensor. Here is a photo of the part that broke. If anyone could clarify it for us that would be awesome. Thanks.

 

 

That does indeed look like the map sensor. Remove it and take it to a parts store to verify.
