Hello, I bought a 2002 dodge stratus rt 18 months ago with 163000 miles. it has been an alright car with it's share of quirks. Shortly after I bought the car the transmission would slip (automatic with the manual option) in auto mode but not when driven in the manual mode. I have driven the car as is since then since there seemed to be no problem. When the weather turned the car would make a rattling similar to a heat shield rattle upon starting and after warming would disappear. This morning I started the car it warmed and when I put it in gear it did nothing. No reverse, no drive in either mode. Any advice? Suggestions? Recommendations?

 

Probably the wave spring broke in the transmission. Rebuild time.
