Rumbling, like "flapping" sound from front right side
Hi! This is driving me INSANE
I have a stratus 00 and I hear, on and off a sort of klicking sound, I know that (this makes me sound like a blonde) an earing fell down by the cooling container, I saw it and tried taking it and it dissappeared into the abyss. I keep thinking that is the cause but my cousin said oh it is prob the belt, that one of the round thingies (I am sorry, swedish and do not know the right terms in english) was worn down. I don't believe him.
And the belt is fine. I have had worse
The sound is so irregular, it is not at turns, acceleration, breaking, backing, it comes and goes as it pleases. As if I have a stone rumbling around in the engine. I do hear it more when there are bumps in the road.
I have an appointment at a garage on monday, he will listen to it. I know what it sounds like when your break pads are done, that grinding noise, but this is not the same. This car just drives me insane and even collects jewelry on the road.
I sort of love/hate it. But I cannot afford a more reliable car (and hey, what is realiable these days) and I love this car. YES I DO. But I really hate it. I am constantly worried it will not start even
But have a charger. So yea. I am a woman, I am not a mechanic, I cannot fix this if it means loosening awheel even on my own. Please advise me to some topic that might fit the description. I would be very grateful because I do want to learn how this freaking space ship works.
Hej hej from Sweden.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, troubleshooting this sort of thing over the internet is quite difficult. Loose pulley? Maybe, belt tensioner? Brake rotor hitting something? Cooling fan? Best thing you can do is take it to a trusted friend/mechanic/garage to get the vehicle in the air, remove a wheel and start inspecting things which may contribute to such a sound. Could also involve removing various components in the engine compartment (coolant reservoir, etc) to locate the source. Report back what the garage finds.
