Occasional stall out but runs smooth otherwise
[This may be the same situation as "Dodge stratus mystery stall" thread but am posting anyway as the problem is a bit different in that it always cranks right back up.]
My mom has a 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4L with around 130K miles. It has been well maintained and never given her much of a problem.
Here lately it has been shutting down on occasion just after start-up (backing out of garage, etc.) and more of late has shut down on her and me once each while waiting in line in traffic. Drop it in neutral and bump the key and it cranks back up without a problem and runs smooth as usual. I can't speak to her experience but on occasion while driving at 55 or so it will hiccup and then continue running smooth and strong.
What can cause this?
Thanks in advance for your insights and experience.
