Default 2005 Stratus Coupe SXT

With all diagnostic codes totally cleared, my service engine soon light remains on. If i rescan for codes the code reader says there are no codes. How do i get the light to go off?

I have tried the half hour battery disconnect and the cycling key on and off 4 times. Light still stuck ON.

On when? What codes did you have? Who cleared the codes? What method was used to clear the codes? What brand/model of code reader?

Had code indicating O2 sensor heating element failed. Replaced that O2 sensor. Cleared code with my MAXISCAN MS309. It is an OBD2/EOBD code scanner. Rescanned after that and the same device says all codes cleared. Light still on.

Usually your local auto parts store will scan codes for free. I dont know if they will clear a check engine light or not, but its worth a shot to see if maybe a different piece of equipment will turn the light off.
