Good afternoon. This is my first forum post on the Dodge site. Thank you in advance for any help.

I recently purchased a 2000 Startus with loads of miles and a P0455 code. For full disclosure, the guy I bought it from did tell me about the issue and he diagnosed as a leak at the top of the gas tank. I have not pulled the tank yet, but I know they can leak vacuum from that area.

1. Is this a common issue on this car? I'll obviously look for the easy stuff like broken hoses etc first, before a pull the tank.
2. I do not have a smoke machine. Has anyone used those aerosol cans to smoke the system? Do they work?
3. If I do smoke the system myself, do I need to command the vent solenoid to close? If so, how is that done on this model?
