Default Bigger engine in the sedan

I have a 2.4 v4 sedan. I would like to know what the chances are that I would be able to get a v6 in it?

Is there that much of a difference between the sedan and the coupes engine bay?

I do alot of driving (20,000 miles in 6 months) and I am thinking of doing alot of work to this car. I was thinking of driving it until the engine starts to go and then replacing it with a v6. Is this feasible?

Quite feasible in fact. Depending on what year model car you have, will determine the best course of action.

The current 2001-2005 models all have the 2.7L and 3.0L V6 engines in them. I also know that the older models did have a V6, I do believe that they used the 2.5L V6 in the Stratus ES models.

You can easily do this, but it may be in your better interest to maybe go with a 2.4L SRT-4 motor from a Neon SRT-4 or a Turbo PT Cruiser with the 2.4L (Same engine and parts)

You'd get more HP for less, and it would be less weight you'd have to account for in the car.

I have a 2005 stratus sedan. I am pretty sure it has a 2.4 v4 automatic in it.

If I were to swap it out with a 2.4l srt-4 engine would i have to do any other car modifications? (ie transmission, etc)

You wouldn't have to modify the transmission, you would however need the trans controller out of a SRT4 as it looks at the boost pressure where the non SRT does not.
