REMOTE DOOR LOCKS
HEY ALL
I BOUGHT A 2001 STRATUS ES AT A GSA AUCTION, ONLY 14,000 MILES ON IT!
IT HAS POWER LOCKS AND WANT TO GET A REMOTE DOOR LOCK KEY FOB. HOW CAN I TELL IF IT HAS THE RECEIVER BUILT INTO THE CAR? HOW DO I KNOW THE RIGHT KEY FOB TO BUY AND/OR PROGRAM??

Its hard to tell if you do or not until you try to program a transmitter. There is a module attached to the body control module which is the RKE unit. But if you don't know what you are looking for you won't see it. If you go to the dealer with your VIN number they can tell you if you have it or not and which transmitter you would need.
