Default re-wireing

#1 - can I rewire my 3rd brake light (r/t) to light up like a shift light would when I redline my tach? ie. When I am pretending I have a stick and am in a low gear, can I set it so my 3rd brake light lights up when I should shift. (r/t shows on my trunk, right before I allow my r/t to get into 2nd or 3rd gear)

#2 - can I rewire my fog lights to turn on without my headlights on. I assume this would be harder then the first, but I was thinking maybe a direct wire to the fog light button as opposed to a circut with the head lights.

I know these are not neccessary but let's face it what really is. I just figured when I downshift to pass some shlep on the highway, it would be sweet to show off the r/t as I go by.

for refference
2002 2dr r/t, (sh*ty auto)
ps. I know it's been asked but I can't find it. How hard would it be to drop a manual trans in

ems? mounts? wireing? hardware?

the biggest problem with swapping to the mtx is the computer issues, and the wiring. i do not recal from my dodge dealership days, but i am almost positive that the harness and computer for the atx and mtx are not the same.

the easiest way to make your 3rd brake light come on like a shift light would be to basically run a whole new set of wires back there, that way, you stand less chance of causing problems with the other lights.

the foglights thing has often crossed my mind as well. it seems that there is a safety of sorts that cuts the power to the fog switch, which is incorporated into the headlight switch, which is why if you turn your fogs on, then turn your headlights off, then back on, the fogs are not on. most cars have the option of running with just parking lights and fogs, and not the headlights, and i dont know why dodge (or mitsu) didnt offer this feature with the RT. i think that it would be again easier to not screw with the multifunction switch, and to simply run wiring for the fog lights, then run those wires up to the stock switch, but im not sure what relays or capacitors the lighting wiring runs through before the switch. i have seen this done on dodge products, and they used a whole different switch, and the factory fog switch didnt do anything. if you got a wiring schematic for the lighting system for the RT, it would likely show you how the wiring was routed from the switch, to the bulb. if it was as easy as clipping the wires going to the bulb, and running new wires back to the switch, that would be great, but i doubt that our luck is good enough for that to be the case. let me see if i can find anything on that wiring.
