06 Dodge Stratus Timing belt tensioner
Hey everyone,
Just replaced my timing belt and water pump on the DOHC 2.4. I replaced the idler pulley and tensior/bracket as well. My timing belt has come loose after roughly 200 miles? Before I go and pull it apart to tighten is there a specific way i should be adjust this tensioner? All I did was moved the plate with the 1/4 ratchet fitting to face towards the front of the car and tightened the 13mm bolt that holds the tensioner in place. The belt seemed to be at the perfect tension and the bolt was tight. Am I supposed to preload this tensioner some how or is it just moving the plate to the location and then re tighting?
