Head Gaskets on 2.4 liter???
After buying a 95 dodge stratus, I have began to worry. Research on the engine tells me that it has a history of blowing the head gasket at low mileage, and again thereafter. Has anyone in this forum had trouble with this? My car has 85,000 miles on it. The coolant level stays full, and the oil is normal. There is an oil leak coming from some where between the engine and firewall, but I guess its a minor leak. It still hauls *** too, so maybe mines o.k.
yes the famous, or infamous head gasket leak. It isn't the leak like you think. It doesn't leak into the combustion chambers or coolant passages. It is an external oil leak from the R/R corner of the cylinder head(next to the master cylinder).
Well, that seems to be where the oil is coming from (the RR corner, because it collects on top of the transmission). Is it going to hurt anything to keep running it as long as I keep the right level of oil in it?? I mean, the car still runs great and I could live with a little oil leak. Tell me what you think.
