Default Ignition switch assembly replacement.

Evening gents,
I’ve got an ‘04 Stratus R/T that I lost the original keys to. I got a junkyard ignition switch assembly and installed it, then I found the original key (of course.) I unlocked the door with the original which shut off the car alarm, but I currently have a crank no start condition, and a green light in the dash that’s a door with a key in the middle. It is a grey headed key. The ignition module I installed had the original key. Wondering what I might be looking at here, seeing as the chip in the key should be correctly programmed, unless there’s another module involved which I’m not aware of.

thanks in advance!
SWF

If its the coupe, its likely due to the immobilizer not recognizing the key, which is chipped. You need to program the ECU to recognize the key.

Ok thank you. I’m a diesel tech, and I have a snap on scanner, but I’m assuming this needs a read/write tool to reset yes? Which would mean I need to bring it to a dealer?

Correct. You might be able to have a mobile locksmith come out and program it for about $100.

The mobile locksmith would program it at $75.
