Wireing diagram for a radio
hi all
I own a 1997 dodge stratus 4 door sedan, with a 2.4l 4 cyl in it
The vehicle presently has a am/fm radio, no cassette or cd,
does anyone out there have a wireing diagram of the radio wireing as it sits stock?
the new stario i have has its own wireing diagram but i wanna match it up with the factory wires
and does anyone know if the base radio my car is equipt with has an external amp?
Thanks for the help all
Cheers!!

i dont believe that your system has a stock external amp, but if it does, it would be either in the trunk, pinned tot he roof of the trunk, or under the passenger seat.
I know that it is possible to hook up an amp to a factory radio but that is for the pros. if you are going to put a new unit in your car, it is really easy. all the wires should match up by color ( green to green and green with black stripe to green with black stripe) make sure you use wire connectors though insted of electric tape. the tape tends to heat up and come off. you dont want to short out you radio or amp. any more questions email me at rdross22@hot.rr.com
thanks for the info, i generally solder my connections and shrink wrap it with the shrink tube, my vehicle has the speakers in the dash and in the front doors, are they on the same wireing for the front channel?
they should be. depending on the type of radio you get you might have to buy a special wiring harness, I put a jvc deck in and had to buy a special harness. I also have the speaker in the dash as well as two tweeters and the regular door speakers. they were all on the same connection
