I was always taught the basics of having regular oil changes done, and maintaining things like tires and all of that, but I know that some Dodges of this year did have dependability issues. My Stratus just turned 150K and I've been religious with maintaining my car because I drive so much. Any input? Is has the 2.7L V6 Motor, with the 4 Speed Automatic.
Also any other suggestions that would make my car stand out a little bit more on the road!
I have never worked on a 2.7 engine. Have you replaced the water pump and timing chain yet? This is a fairly major repair but if the chain fails, you're looking at major bucks to repair it. This is just from talking to mechanics still in the business. Anything after 2000, I don'r deal with much.
In my ownership, I have not replaced anything besides brakes, a battery, and routine oil changes. Thank you for the insight, I will look into having those things looked at to make sure they aren't showing signs of wear. I genuinely do like the car, that's why I'm trying to start replacing things now before they go bad.
