2002 DOHC Removal
I'm removing the engine and tranny in a 2002 dodge stratus. I'm removing the engine due to a spun rod bearing. I have been told that the best way to remove the engine was to remove the engine and tranny togather by dropping it out the bottom. I have got everything disconnect or removed. The only thing left is the motor mounts. My question is, I'm not sure how to support the motor in order to remove it. I do have a car lift so that help a lot. I'm not sure how to support the bottom of the motor to remove it with my 2 stage high lift 1100 lb floor jack. or should i use my engine craddle. The motor does not have the factory lifting brackets like the 97 i did. Any recommendationg would be helpful.
Thanks

Set it on a couple of old tires and raise the car off of the engine/trans assembly. Its not fun at all, I believe you also have to remove the power steering pump from the vehicle as well if you didn't already. I think that it catches on the K frame on the way out. When the engine is out, just hook a chain to the front mount area and the other off of the cylinder head someplace. There are no lifting brackets or add on ones available.
