Any compatibility between sedans and coupes?
Tried looking and haven't had much luck finding answers. Have a 2001 SE, 2.7L sedan. Zero rust, basically given to me ($375), 53k miles, but due to age I have timing change noise, bad valve stem seals, cooked BCM and a leaky axel seal. That said, I really don't want to put any work into the 2.7L engine, they were always problematic, and I'd prefer a Mitsubishi engine and manual anyway. No stranger to engine/transmission swaps, and I know the coupe is essentially a Mitsubishi, and the sedan isn't. That said, is anything compatible between the two? If I can't put a 6G and a manual in the car it's basically useless to me, and I'll flog it off to carvana or whatever. At some point it'd be nice to upgrade the suspension and brakes as well so compatibility with the coupe/eclipse would be awesome.
My original idea was to get a donor eclipse so I'd get an engine/gearbox/loom/ecu, but that idea was hatched from reading something on another forum where the broad claim (a stratus is just an eclipse) with no further detail was posted. Was about to buy a donor car, googled again, and found out the sedans and coupes are totally different. I don't mind some work and fabrication, but I also don't want to reinvent the wheel either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Zero compatibility mechanically, and no body parts are the same. 00-05 Eclipses and 01-05 Stratus and Sebring coupes share all mechanical parts, and even some body parts. (doors, door handles, interiors). Sedans are a completely different breed; they only share a name.
Thanks for the response. That's terribly disappointing. I can make my own engine mounts, work all the electrical out (Haltech FTW), but finding axels that work and limitations upgrading brakes and suspension is a deal killer. Shame, be a fun little 4 door with a boosted Mitsubishi 6G and a manual. Worst part is the body is mint, but I won't put a dime into the BCM, 2.7 or an auto, since that would essentially exceed the resale value of the car.
Again greatly appreciate the info!
