Default Possible new Stratus convert

I like the look of the late model Stratus R/T, and it has respectable performance. But,"respectable performance" is nowhere near enough. Is it possible to make the Stratus a pretty fast car? Does anyone have any time slips or 1/4 times for their Stratus? If aftermarket support is strong enough, I may seriously consider a Strat R/T for my next set of wheels. I need A car that can be made to handle well as I autocross, and handling is just as important as power to me. I would like to be able to add power as well, so I'm hoping there are ways of modifing the motor (300HP range possible?). A manual trans is a must. I also need to be able to change wheels and tires around, so hopefully this car is not too much of a pain to get wheels for.

Any insight is appreciated.

i PMed you..but ill field this too..

the RT coupe has a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, so finding new wheels is no problem. the fastest RT coupe that i have seen was running in the 12s with an MTX...performance parts are out there, but you will pay top dollar...if you want a modding car, buy a honda..if you want a car that has a comfy interior, and has some decent stock get up and go..the Rt is excellent...i am happy with it, although i would like it to be faster, but i also have a mid 12 second car, and amandas truck is pretty stout...the daytona will eventually be a toy, and be faster than the RT as well, so i just need something reliable...

i have seen an 01 MTX RT coupe with headers, no cat, catback, intake and some weigth reduction run in the mid 14s...something like a 14.6...which is a bit more than a second faster than stock..i am also about a second faster than bone stock...my car is capable of high 15s, but i forgot that the trunk had about 150lbs worth of crap in it, and a full tank of gas last time it was run...so it only ran 16.1

Just keep an eye on the forums and we'll eventually see just what the stratus is capable of.
