have a 99 dodge stratus 2.4 DOHC. Fuse 8 kept blowing. Changed fuse, and for a few days it was fine. A week later changing the fuse didn't work. Car no longer would start. No sound, no crank. Each time it blew the starter/ignition fuse. I used a30 amp fuse and it worked but not sure how safe it was. I recommend you try 1) check all fuses under hood and car. 2) check the starter relays next to fuse box under hood. 3) get a wiring diagram and check for voltage. 4) remove starter and get it tested. My issue was the starter relay, $16.00. If I would have done it this way I would have saved hours. Good luck.
