Check for incoming power ... then depress the brakes there should be 12 volts on one of the other pins ... I don't have a strat so can't tell you wire colors

 

I got to thinking after that post, it must be the switch. I have put new bulbs in, checked the fuse, all lights work except brakes. If the brake lights are not coming on, then there has to be no signal getting to them however. So that tells me that it has to be the switch or a brake in the wire somewhere, do you agree?

 

Yes I'd check the switch FIRST the switch failing is more likely then the a wire break unless you installed something and drilled/pinched a wire ...

 

Ok! I purchased the switch after work today. Came home, and just like I thought, I am having trouble trying to figure out how to remove the old one! It is SO tight under there, that I can't quite see the clips or whatever holds it in. I don't want to just pry, because I am sure I will break something. Any tips for me? please

 

I removed the screws mine dropped down 6 inches so I could see it usually there is a tab you have to pry on to release the plug
