Default Trunk release problem

Hey guess what another part broke in my 1998 dodge stratus.

Here is the problem this time. The trunk release handle next to the driver’s seat won't work anymore. I think it might be a spring because the handle dies not give any force when you pull it up. So my question is there a spring that is broke or disconnected or is there something else wrong with it?

Once again thanks for all of the help you members have given me!!!

Yea, i had the same problem before, i checked everything twice over.. turned out to be the most simple problem, somone hit the lock out switch next to the latch. try that before you go all out, like i did

Make sure the stud on the end of the cable is in its proper recess in the trunk latch mechanism. My latch is like that right now - it popped out. I have to use a key to open the trunk but I haven't fixed it yet out of pure laziness.
