i have an "ebay cheapo", and i bought a good K&N cone filter for it, and it is as good as any expensive intake out there. the one that you linked is actually quite a bit cheaper in price than mine was a few years back.
thanks for the reply....one thing though..Doesn't a cold air intake have a longer tube.. or does it really matter? anyways, i'm going to go ahead and buy it... thanks again...
what do you mean about the longer tube?there are two types of cold air intakes...
"Sri" and "CAI"...what you linked is a SRI, or short ram intake. it is better than a stock intake setup in most cases, but it is still pulling in hot air from the engine bay. the CAI, or cold air intake, relocates the air filter out of the engine bay, to draw in all cold air.
here is a picture of mine:

my air filter is actually right in front of the LF tire...and sits about 4 inches off the ground.

the thing is, companies like AEM charge 300+ dollars for the intake for my car, and with the filter and the actual piping, i have less than half of that. it is true that the "cheapo CAIs" come with crappy filters, but you can buy a cone filter, just like i did...as for the entire ret of the system, so long as it is fully metal, (some include plastic parts, avoid these) it is no different than the AEM units. some are powdercoated to help reduce internal heat, but the effects of this pwoedercoating cant be worth the huge price jump, unless you really wanted it in a color other than silver
Im in the market fo one also and have been bumming around ebay for one. Ill probably end up going the SRI route though. The deep puddles in the long rainy season scare me as far as having an intake that low goes. Definately going the ceepo wit add on k&m route. I mean a metal tube is a metal tube.

the biggest thing to watch for, is that the MAFS adapter is metal, because that it the most important piece of the kit, and alot of them are plastic.
i just searched, and there are a TON of cheapo intakes for the 3.0L listed as eclipse, but they are the same engines and such...i just searched "eclipse 3.0L intake"

I live in upstate New York so the winters are kind of bad here ... so I guess i'll stick to the SRI myself...about that MAFS adapter you mentioned.. I dont see any attachments of any kind to the intake I just purchased..(the one I linked earlier)...is it something you buy separetely or is it supposed to come with it...
