which intake??
i just got a 05 stratus 2.4L sxt and was looking to increase the hp. i was reading other posts and seems like you guys recommend to get a cold air intake to start. i also read that they do not get along with water to well. so, one, i was wondering what the difference is between a cold air intake and a short ram intake and two, what would be better for michigan driving with all the rain and snow. also, are there any online stores from which i can order them from. thanks.
We are located in Michigan also the K&N cold air system would be a good choice for our weather .

Short ram basically puts a k&n filter on a short pipe and allows more air into your throttle body, cold air drops the pipe down by your front tire where the air is colder and denser, thus more effective. Cai is better, I have a cold air intake on mine, and I drive it every day here in michigan. I went with aem, but there really isn't any difference and you can save a lot of $ on ebay. As for the water, you just have to watch going through really deep puddles, if you do suck up water (your front tire basically 75% underwater) you can just shut the car off for a few minutes and everything will be fine. I made it through the last year with zero problems. Also aem makes a bypass that serves as a safety net for hydrolocking your motor. Hope that helps.
F-5 performance and I believe dreamspeed make intakes for 2.4. F-5 performance.com is currently down but if you join 2gss.org he is on their and will most likely do business. I have one of his short ram intakes for 2.7 and love it.
