A/C problem
Last winter, my mechanic determined that I had a broken vent door to the heater box. He did a band-aid fix so that I could get heat. That was fine for the winter. Now that it is getting warm again, I am wondering if I need to break down and have the vent door to the heater box actually fixed. Here is the problem: I turn on the A/C full force, and it never cools down in the cabin. There is some marginal improvement, but I suspect (with the broken vent door) there is just too much heat to deal with. And the A/C system cannot dissipate all of it. Yes, I did consider maybe I need more R134 refrigerant, but the inlet and outlet tubes to the A/C compressor are appropriately hot and cold respectively. However, after running the A/C for like an hour, there was zero condensation drip on the garage floor. I found that strange. What do you all think?
