did i get a good deal on my caR?
ok, my car is an '01 stratus r/t. black, 3.0 V6, 5 speed, PW, PL, keyless entry, moon roof, 103,000 miles when i got it, clear coat fading a little on roof behind sunroof, otherwise no dents, and only a couple very small scratches on rear bumper cover. I thought a got a very good deal on the car, but everyone who asks me what i paid and i tell them, they ALL look at me like i made a huge mistake and got ripped off. ok, well, i paid $5,900 for it, just wondering if anyone here knows if that is good or not. THANKS!
well, on kbb.com it says that the suggested retail value (at a stealership) of an 01 RT with 103,000 miles on it in excellent condition (it sounds like yours wouldnt quite be excellent) would be worth 9,300 ish...
so the way that i look at it, if the car is in excellent running condition, if you painted it, it wouldnt cost you more than a couple grand, so say that it costs 2500, and you paid 5900, you would have 8400 tied up in it, and the car would book for 9300, so i would say that you got a good deal. alot of people rag on the coupes because they are expensive for what they are, but they are good cars when maintained.

That's not only a great deal, that's a freaking steal. The only downside to it is how well it was maintained prior to you. If the previous owner took solid care of it, then you my friend made out like a bandit. I overpaid on mine, but I also got it with like 45k on it with a certified pre-owned warranty and what have you...it's a fun car to drive...
