1996 Stratus Blowing Fan and A/C problems
My girlfriend owns a 1996 Dodge Stratus 2.4L.
Her blower fan will only come on when set to high. I know this is probably the resistor. Can anyone give me suggestion???Where can I but the resistor??? Where is it in the car??? Is it something other than the resistor???
Also her A/C is a little weird. Sometime the A/C will be cold as ice but other time it seems like it just blowing regular air. I check radiator fan and relay, recharged R-134, and compressor isnt leaking??? Any suggestions???
thanks

RE: 1996 Stratus Blowing Fan and A/C problems
The fan definitely sounds like a blower resistor. Part #is 4885844AA and retails from Dodge for $16.70. Here's how to find/remove it from a service manual:
BLOWER RESISTOR
The blower motor resistor is located on the lower right side of the heater housing.
REMOVAL
Remove lower right underpanel silencer/duct.
Disconnect wiring connectors on blower motor resistor.
Remove blower motor resistor retaining screws.
Pull blower motor resistor out of heater housing.
INSTALLATION
To install, reverse removal procedure.
