2000 Stratus front suspension noises
There is a squeaking noise coming from the drivers side front suspension. The struts appear to be in good shape. However, I can't determine where the noise is coming from. The noise is so loud that you can hear it inside the car with the windows up.
Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, what what the fix?

is it when hitting bumps? sitting still?
if you put the car in gear, and hold the brake, and easy into the throttle, will it make the noise?

when was the last time the front brake pads were changed? all front pads have a wear indicator that SQUEEEAAALLS when the pads are almost worn to the point of jacking up the brake rotors. if they are just starting to get bad you won't here them unless you are just starting to drive (heat expansion and all). if you here it ALLL the time pull off the wheel and take a look as brakes are kind of needed.
if it's a squeak and not a squeal try lubing the the underbody (10min oil change shop can do it for you) and see if it goes away. hope this helps, good luck.
The noise occurs when going over bumps. If you rock the front end of the car, you can hear it squeak. It sounds like something that needs lubricated. That is why I am thinking that it is the struts.
I just had the brakes and rotors changed. The noise is not the same as when the brakes pad wear down to the indicator. If you go over a bump or rock the front end of the car, it will make the noise. It sounds like something that needs lubricated. However, I have lubricated every area on the front suspension.
