Default engine swap

I know I've read or posted about it before, but I can't find it. In a 2dr strat r/t v6 I have found it will cost about 3-4k to upgrade the internals on the mitsu 6g72 motor. For that kind of money could I swap an srt4 motor and trans into my car? Or should I get a 3000gt/stealth motor and take the internals from that? I would like to have an engine that could handle a good amount of boost without issues. It has to remain a daily driver for now as well. Someone also recomended getting the 2.4l stratus motor with the mopar upgrades, but this seems like I would be going backwards? Any info on what engines will fit, I would replace the trans as well as the ecu of course. Thanks.

Default RE: engine swap

The 2.4L Stratus coupe motor is a Mitsu motor.....not the same Chrysler motor that's in the Sedan or the SRT-4.

Honestly, the 2.4L SRT-4 motor would fit....but you'd have to redo all the computer stuff not to mention the extra hp you'd gain would probably be lost with the added weight of the Stratus.....although the stage kits would be f***in sweet.

I dunno, I've kinda given up much hope of doing anything major to my Strat motor wise.....altho I'm still debating on building up a block and then dropping it in....you could use the GTS Eclipse/Diamante manifold....and get some decent headers too...
