Default 98 Stratus smokes blue

My 98 Stratus is blowing out blue smoke from time to time. Not clouds but a little here n there. I put in oil stop-smoke and it calmed down but, should I panic?

well blue smoke means yur burning oil internally, you could have a leaky gasket somewhere. If it were white smoke your looking at a bigger problem. White means your burning water or coolant, which probably means you have internal damage like a crack in block somewhere. I wouldnt be too worried right now but in the near future would have it checked out.

try a complete tune-up or take it in for a compression check. if the compression check is low, might be time for another ride. with the blue smoke could be fuel, oil, or both. unburt fuel comes out black. LOTS of oil comes out white (like a james bond smoke screen). coolant will also boil and come out as white steam. you might be looking at some combination of all the above. you need to smell the smoke to tell what's up. if it smells like gas, it's tune-up time. smell like antifreeze? head gasket. smell like oil? check your egr system and start window shopping for a new ride. good luck.
