2001 stratus rt speaker problem
I am new to this forum. I have a 2001 dodge stratus rt. My speaker that is above my compass is making a rattling noise. I went to a store that sells car stereo to get a new speaker and the guy there told me to just disconnect it and you won't even know it is not there. My question is how do I take out the compass so I can disconnect the speaker?

RE: 2001 stratus rt speaker problem
hmm maybe I can help.. I work at a car audio shop.. I drive an '01 stratus and I have noticed that center chanel in the infinity system just distorts horribly when I turn up my system.. so I've contemplaited changing it with another 3" speaker. I have yet to open that part of the dash up and look at it but I do know that the bottom part of the dash just comes right out with 1 or 2 screws.

Pull off the front face...
The black cover over center chanel just pulls straight out....THere are 2 screws holding in the compass and thermometer...
Pull out the compass and thermometer... (may need to use a pick tool or small panel popper because there are small metal clips.. so becareful not to break them)
Pull up on the center chanel..
*poof* there it is out..
*PS PLASTIC IS BRITTLE... SO IT WILL BREAK EASY
