Default serious issue or not? 96 stratus

i got a 96 stratus 2.5l v-6

sometimes i'll be at a red light, gear on "D" and when the light turns green and i accelerate the car doesn't go, its as if it were in neutral then all of the sudden it'll go into gear and make a bang noise and makes the car jump.

almost like when you're driving a stick and you kill it.

i've checked fluid levels and they're fine. no leaks either.

Have your transmission filter replaced and see if that fixes the problem. Most of the jiffy lube minute oil changing spots will do it for cheap.

Yes your torque convertor is gone for good. Buy yourself an harder convertor, that give you more oil pressure, by this swap you gonna get more power
