2.5L timing belt replacement
Hi I am trying to change the timing belt on a 2.5L V6 cirrus. I assume theres not much different from the stratus. I need help, I put the new belt on and applied tension, but when I did the timing marks on the cams were off about a tooth. I read online to remove the belt and back the cams up a tooth so that it would line up when tension was applied. When I turned the rear cam it jumped forward like 6-8 teeth then when i turned it back it jumped forward about 6-8 teeth PAST the timing mark. Now I cant get the marks even close together. The cam gear is really hard to turn, is this normal? Please help if anyone knows what I should do.
Thank you very much

the cam is hard to turn 'cause your compressing the valve spings. if it's REAL hard to turn, your valves might be hitting the pistons. lining up the marks can be a real pain, if you can't do it within 6 beers, save it till later. good luck.
