our stratus leaks coolent only when it is off. it pours it all out. it heats up when your sitting still but cools down when you take off. Any Ideas? If I have to replace the pump how hard is it? I am not use to these kind of cars just the big old big boats. my other car is a 1987 cadillac. lol. which is worst one that breaks down alot or one that take alot of time and money to fix? lol

 

sounds like your fan may not be coming on. as you drive the air going over the rad keeps it cool. when stopped no air going over the rad, gets hot. changing the pump is no fun. not hard to do, just tight space to work in. might as well change the t-belt and tensioner assy while your at it. the timming on the belt is very critical, might take a few tries to get right. after installing the belt, hand crank the motor 2-4 times to make SURE it stays in time. otherwise you'll have to pull it all back apart again to reset the time. i'd try and see where the leak is, might just be a hose or some other easy fix. good luck.
