Default mp3 input

Hi all, am new to the boards. Anyways, my question is, is there an input i can buy to directly connect my mp3 player (not an ipod) to the factory stereo in my 2005 R/T coupe? i have looked at bestbuy, etc and most seem to need the RCA inputs on the car stereo to work. i have an fm transmitter right now but am not happy with the sound quality, and have no tape deck to use with one of those adapters. Also, does anyone know the specs of the Infinity 7 speaker system that came with this car (watts, etc)? I've looked all over the net and in the owner's manual but haven't found anything.

Audiophile,

I don't have a definite answer for you but I have spent a decent amount of time looking for an mp3/ipod kit to install in my '01 Stratus. I've actually returned a couple of online purchases once I found out they would not work. I think part of the challenge, at least for me, is that there's not a seperate "CD" connector on the back of the stock radio. Most mp3/ipod adapters seem to want to tap into this connection.

Check out neocaraudio.com or search them on the web. They make many plugs and connections for stock heah units.

I know you have to use a special adapter made by metra just to get outputs for an aftermarket amp. AFAIK, there is no way to get inputs. If I'm not mistaken, the factory amp is around 125w or in that ballpark. It's nothing special and neither is the sound system really. It could all use an upgrade.
