about how many miles before they probally need changed or is there?

depends on how you drive. i have about 50k on my 02 and had to change them because they were starting to crack. BUT i drive on the autobahn so mine will wear ALOT faster than yours. if you drive like a normal person you should be able to go through 2 sets of front brake pads if you get them resurfaced, might be cheaper just to buy new ones as i think mine cost $30 each.

while some people have had problems with the stratus coupe brakes, i did not, and my car is pushed well past its limit..

i just changed my rotors...56,000 miles, they were resurfaced once. i was pleased to have them last that long.

tom, where on yours were they cracking?

toward the bottom edge of the pad contact point. cracks were 1/4 to 3/4 inch long. noticed when i was changing pads. thought it might be a good time to replace them. seemed to follow the vent shape so i know they were getting pretty hot.
