Stratus Amplifier Blown
Okay we got water in the car and it shorted out the Amplifier under the passanger seat. So my question is can i buy a bypass wire that connects the two sets of wire were the amp was. Or do i need to buy another amp (any suggestions). I am looking for a very inexpensive option.
Thanks

Is this a stock amp or was it installed afterwards? Usually, the wires going into your amp are at line level (not enough to drive speakers and nowhere near the output impdance) so bypassing the amp will not do you any good if this is the case (and I'm guesing it is). Is the amp easily switched out with another one of comparable output and quality? In other words, can you quickly disconnect all of the wires to and from the amp? If so, just replace the amp. Crutchfiled I imagine should have something.

first of all...year and model?
if its a coupe, yes you can bypass the amp. when mine went, i wasnt willing to pay the 500 bucks that the stealership wanted for a new amp, so i made jumped wires and took the amp out...just jumped from one side to the other..its a royal pain in the butt, but it WILL work.
