hey there, i was wondering what the ground wire does on the muffler.

 

not so much a ground wire, more of an OH $HIT wire. while the heating/cooling of the pipes will cause SOME (not hardly any) voltage, the wire is mostly there in case the rubber suspenders fail. that way your tail pipe don't drag on the road. happy motoring.
