project potato chip mopabishi 2.4?
Well there all stratus masters, I would have a client project car and would prefer using a production line 1994-2004ish model mopar engine for motivation. Weight and it having a clutch cover and flywheel being the key design factor, it will use a Hewland or Renault transmission.
I would have an endless amount of questions about all of this new fangled ****, but no good idea of whats out there in der moparland now a days, any help on this would be much appreciated. I grabbed a NGK catalog and fanned to dodge and came up with 1995 Dodge Status 2.0, 2.4, 4 cylinder or 2.5 V6 for this project!
I have not a clue on stock computer car things first is what's stock v. modded hp/tq/ rpm numbers for 2.4 4 cylinder engine and is it a Mitsubishi something or other, or is there a domesticated 2.4 also ? whats the 2.0 ? hell with 2.0, (was there ever a production 2.5 4 cylinder mopar?) My first thought for this was the 4 inch bore 9 inch deck race block and W-9 but I'm not sure this guy wants that hard core so my next choice was the old 2.6 and delortto's or using Electromotive managed f.i. but I would like to move on to the "new and improved" **** of the 21st century with this clients car, a V6 would be good but must be all aluminum or very light.
What's the stock engine mangement configuration like? number of coils? are they pluenum fed throttle body or IR? I would like to use an oem based engine management system, is stock fuel pressure fixed or rising rate?
Anyone know engine only weights of these engines? Whats the size of clutch? flywheel o.d.? That would be enough information, maybe to decide if it would work for this application. Thanks for your input
