thanks for your info.
does it look like its leaking at all (oily around the head and block) if its not and everything looks good dont even worry about it, unless your gunna be hard on the car and beat on it
at around 110,000 miles oil started showing in my dad's breeze's antifreeze, around 13,000 miles later he ended up with a cylinder full of coolant, so you can guess when that head gasket got done. On the stratus I just bought it was replaced around 111,000 miles.
We bought a 98 new, the original gasket lasted to 36,250 miles, the second 1 year and 2 months (dealer work was gauranteed 1 year), the 3rd was an aftermarket replaced by a Joe Blow garage and is going fine. Guess I got a friday afternoon car. Can't keep outer tierod ends on it either.

i have 1 question about my '99 stratus. i hear a squeeking, more like a creaking noise coming from the front end whenever i go to turn corner. i will be waiting for your reply back ASAP.
thank you. its a 2.4L. im thinking it could be maybe the front " joints".
thanks

If you are talking about just setting still (or rolling without torque on the drivetrain) and you get the creaking. Lube the front end (outer tie rod ends and ball joints/control arms). Then Work your wheel from stop to stop a few times and maybe squirt in a little more. It should go away. Don't just forget about it though, check out all joints for wear and replace if needed.
Ours was doing that and it turned out being the outer tie rod ends. Got them quiet, but they were shot within 6 months.
Just a tip, but I just put the third set on (second replacement). The first replacement set was $58+/- each wherever I checked on line, got the set I just put on from Rock Auto online. They had them for the $58+/- and for $9.80 each. I bought the cheap ones because the expensive ones I bought lasted only a year and a half. Just got them and, believe it or not, they not only looked just like the expensive ones, they had the same numbers cast on them. Work just fine too
.
Good Luck,
Dave
