Default 3.0 or 2.7

Hey guys im new to the board, and just have some general questions about the Stratus. Currently I own a 1996 Intrepid 3.5, which some girl hit a few days ago and most likly will be totalled. Im looking around for a 2 Gen. Stratus, when I came across this....

Link to AutoTrader ad

What I am wondering is if that deal seems legit, and also do the R/T's have 2.7 or 3.0? because I have seen some with the 2.7 magnum sticker on the side....but also I have read about people with 3.0..... sorry for the stupid questions lol

Thanks for all your help!

i think the RTs have the 3L and the none RT V6s are the 2.7L could be wrong though.

I've never seen an R/T that wasn't a 3L, and that car in the ad seems a bit cheap but maybe the miles are the reason for the price.

The Stratus R/T coupes have the 3.0L V6 & the R/T sedan's have the 2.7L V6.

The coupes only came with the 2.4L and the 3.0L.

You could get a coupe with a 3.0L and it not be a R/T, but that was only an added extra, not a standard option...

The deal and price is about right.....but know that you'll need to have the timing belt looked at as these cars are subject to bent valves if it blows. They're due for a change between 70k-105k, so ask about that....and expect it to be 400-600 in cost to have it done. Also know that the spark plugs on these cars are a pain to change...

Otherwise, they're solid cars and you should enjoy it.....I only got rid of mine because I needed a bigger car...
