Hi everyone! New to the forums and new to my Stratus. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem I've been having. I searched but didn't find anything similar to the issue I am having. I have a 2002 Stratus R/T (3.0 L V6) with about 61k on it. When I start m car cold, it growls when I shift into reverse and drive (Park and neutral are fine). The sound seems to come from the engine bay/passenger side of the car. Fluid levels are normal (checked last night). The growl almost sounds like something is rubbing, and gets louder when I come to a stop. It also goes away more and more when the car gets warm and at higher speeds/RPMs. I haven't noticed any performance problems or reduced economy, but the sound worries as I don't want a major bill to fix a part if something blows up. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and I'd be glad to supply more info if needed. Thanks

Hmm, might've been a knock. Put in some 92 octane pump gas and seems to be relieving the sound

 

Lol turns out my transmission was falling apart, which put excess wear on my motor mounts (still need to be replaced) anyways, fyi

 

I kind of find it funny how you answered your own questions.

 

Yea that is funny, That reminds me though I need to flush my tranny. Thanks
