Default Where does the oil come from?

Hi folks,
I have a '98 2.0 . I've been noticing some oil running down the side of the engine and onto the filter. It's had 2 head gaskets replaced with oil in the same area. Figuring it was the HG again, I just set in to wait until it gets bad enough to replace. Then, I was changing spark plugs the other day (super easy BTW), and when I pulled the #1 plug, the socket was covered with oil. Of course, the oil ran into the cylinder and smoked like hell. Could it be that I only have a problem with the valve cover or something in that area, and not a HG?

Thanks,

Dave

I had the oil in the spark well problem. I replaced the valve cover gaskets and the plug seals, problem solved.

Thanks. Just ordered the set. Don't even want to know if I paid to have 2 HG's installed for nothing (or, if they were even installed to begin with)

Thanks, Dave

You may want to check your rear main seal also...
