I just got an 01 R/T, a step up from a '95 Avenger, and had a question about the sun/moon roof in it.

First, was a sunroof standard or optional with the R/Ts? I'm leaning toward optional and here's why... The manual came along with the car and I found a receipt in the binder from the time of purchase, from the Dodge dealer, with a line item for power sunroof installation. I also found a warranty card/mini manual for a Farmont Skylite sunroof.

The problem is that the buttons for the sunroof don't do anything. I don't think the motor is getting any current but thats another story. Is this normal for Dodge to install a 3rd party sunroof in a new car? (when originally purchased in '01)

I want a working sunroof!

 

Assuming you are talking about the coupe (I think there was an R/T Sedan as well) the Sunroof was an option.
Sounds like yours is after-market.
