electrical problems
Hi

I have a dodge stratus 97, 2.4 L. It had 280Ks on it and the head gasket needed to be replaced. After talking to several mechanics i decided to change the whole engine. I got a 99 engine with only 60K's on it. The new engine seems to be really weak. When I talked to the mechanic he said the engine was sitting for a year so i should give it a week to "break in". Do you think it was just an excuse?

Also after changing the engine coincidentally one of my front headlight burnt out and also every time I turn on the headlight the wiper turns on for about 5 secs and turns off. Can anybody help me with that. Do you think it is somehow related to changing of the engine?

thanks

I'd be suspicious. The 96-98 and the 99-00 engines have some differences. Unless all the parts were changed over from the old engine the ECM might be confused about what the engine is actually doing. The wiper headlight issue also point to an electrical issue although in the BCM.
