My daughter has a 2001 Stratus, which has been giving her problems recently. The problem seems to have started when this very cold weather came around. She can't depress the button on the shifter, and therefore can't shift out of PARK. This seems to happen only when it is extremely cold out. A few times she has come back in the afternoon after the car has been in the sun for afew hours and she has no problem with the shifter moving. I took the console cover off this past weekend and sprayed some penetraing fluid around all the parts, but it didn't help. Anyone have any ideas or experience this type of problem before?
