That number is not official. The 08 Viper is rated at 600HP

 

Yeah I know. Hennessey got his hands on an 08 and this is what he got so far.
2008 Viper Baseline = 546 rw hp / 515 rw tq

3 inch Stainless Full Manifold-back Exhaust System with No Cats = 575 rw hp / 546 rw tq
(29 rw hp / 30 rw tq gain over stock)

Cant wait for Headers.

 

Does not matter what he got on a dyno. As for marketing, HP wars, ect it is a 600HP car.

 

Here are some more numbers and what he said.
Made 3 pulls, first pull was 598/562, 2nd pull was 592/562 and the 3rd pull was 588/554. All runs were made back to back with no cool down and these numbers are uncorrected.The 598/562 number SAE corrects to 585 rw hp and 550 rw tq.

This car is a monstrosity. Gears too high for drag racing, too heavy to make the critics happy, and it still pulls off mid 10s with slicks as its only mod… It is a truly amazing car for only being on its 3rd engine in 15 years.
