2008 Viper info and pics, post em here!
You know, midnightblueneon, you are a true savior. TIf it was me bringing up the stuff you brought up everyone would flame me and call me stupid. But you and i have the same opinions and since they respect you more, you basically spoke for me.
As to the critics of the viper, viper is trying to keep its "class". They won't add a supercharger because it's not their style and that's something so cheap,easy, and uncreative to do. That's the only way chevy and Ford can keep up. If push comes to shove, dodge will throw in a supercharger on the viper and that will be the day that ford and chevy regret challenging it with their stupid little v8 with a hunk-of-aluminum-scrap superchargers thrown on. Viper can't make a hemi cus of emmission laws, It won't throw in a v12 because people will probably stop buying it. Heck, if it took chevy and ford THIS LONG to catch up with a viper whose v10 is strictly BARE like it is, then that shows the awesomeness and ingenuity of DC. Considering the future threats dodge can do, we are not even considering Variable Valve Timing... so next time you say that the viper sucks because others are catching up with it... think again. visit this link for more info for the cocky people who just wont get thru their thick skulls that they are fighting a losing battle when they challenge the viper... click here

Viper update: No doubt about it 100% confirmed:
2008= ZB
2008 SRT10 Coupe: 8.4L w/6-speed manual
2008 SRT10 Convertible: 8.4L w/6-speed manual
2008= ZB

The only styling tip I received was so miniscule I didn't think it was worth mentioning - the SRT-10 badges have been redesigned (silver satin color). I was also told that the the SRT-10 logo is going to be "lighted" somewhere on the vehicle (rear center brake lamp perhaps?).
The axle ratio will be as before, 3.07. I assume that new style wheels will offered for the returning 18x10" and 19x13" sizes. Audio will be also be similar to '06, 310-w amp w/7 speakers and sub. Not sure why but the front windows will not have the "one-touch-up" feature. Suede/leather seats will be standard as before. Dual exhaust will be side-exited as probably expected.
As for the "ZC" series all I know is that the '08 ZB model year will be long, running to the normal end of the '08 model year (late June 2008). If the new gen was going to be '09 the soonest production would start would have to be around October-November 2008.

I remember reading an interview with Don Knott from SRT, then PVO at the time and he said that they have always dreamed of doing a supper viper and that it was possible if the "horse power" wars continued on the way they started. That was back when the SRT-10 convertable came out, look at us now 4 years latter and what has happened? Corvette better than Viper my predictions.
8.4L V-10
600-700hp
650-750 FTlb/TQ
new tremec 6 spd
mabey even a F1 Ferrari style paddle shifter
carbon fiber in the body works
new design
ditch the side pipes again
0-60 in the 3.0 sec range
Like i said they want a super viper and if you look closely at what DC does they have built first the ME 4-12 then the fire power, they are researching speed in a big way expect something to take the vipers place as a corvette fighter and look for the viper to take on the exotics sooner than latter, expect a new car to take on the Vette a lightweight hemi powered coupe and it will be the firepower.

OK here is my guess for the 2008 Viper.
1. The car pictured is NOT the 2008 Viper. It is a GEN III with a diamondback hood. It very well could have the GEN IV engine under the hood for testing.
2. There will be some small body changes, hood design could be one of them. Slightly different headlights, badging and a new set of wheels will be offered. The big changes will be in the chassis and suspension (over all lighter that GEN III chassis and suspension).
3. The other big change the GEN IV will bring is the engine of course.
-It will be a V10 ( I love it when I get somthing right)
-It very well may slip back a few cubic inches (less than 505)
-The heads will be completly redesigned, along with intake and new cam/lifter specs
-Results will be 600HP max. Rumors of a 150HP jump are just people with wishful thinking.
-You may see a slightly larger gear ratio, but I doubt anything higher than 3.54, probably something in the 3.23 range. So many people harp on the gears in the Viper. The people who do are ususally ones who have never driven a Viper. If you slap a 4.10 in there getting the car to hookup and keep going straight is a NIGHTMARE. 0-60 times would suffer due to not being able to apply the power w/o wheel spin and the extra shift required. 1/4 mile times would be about the same. The 3.05 gear car will begin to pull hard on the 4.10 at the end of the track. Lets also remember, the Viper is built not just for the 1/4 but tracks as well. Bigger gears is more shifting in and out of corners which takes time and slows the lap times.

Now, the pic is very bad, could be a photo chop, but I still maintain what I said in point 3, other than the CID.
